Lightweight concrete additive developer Syntheon Inc., Pittsburgh, has formulated a dry mix for 30-minute set time and high early strength development characteristics affording form removal at 90 minutes. Announced at World of Concrete 2016, Velocrete sheds weight from architectural projects and is available in a variety of lightweight densities: 150, 120, 110, 100, 90, and 50 pcf. The material can be specially formulated for custom jobs at a two-pallet minimum order.
